3. Comenta, en Matt Maude, l'altre co-director, que van identificar algú amb una càmera de vídeo en una fotografia que els va arribar d'un antic treballador; allò els va portar a descobrir 300 hores de metratge VHS en un garatge de Hawaii, entre les quals 45 minuts especialment significants.
4. El projecte va completar-se en 3 anys.

COMENTARI: Els socis, Sony, AT&T, Motorola, Philips... arriscant a raó de 6 milions de dòlars cadascun, i, mentrestant, el Pierre Omidyar, un dels desenvolupadors del sistema, gestant el seu eBay https://ca.wikipedia.org/wiki/EBay... durant les seves estones lliures, imagino. O el mateix Andy Hertzfeld, un dels fundadors del tinglat, dedicant-se a polir bagatel·les de la secció de jocs quan la data límit és a tocar... El que vull apuntar amb això és que, potser, l'empresa en el seu conjunt no resultava tant engrescadora com ho pinten. Per copsar l'impacte real em manquen referències tecnològiques i no un grapat d'imatges de nanos i nanes enganxats a circuits integrats, teclats i pantalles tàctils. No sé, parlo des de l'enveja, òbviament. Cal reconèixer, no obstant, que la història té la seva gràcia, sobretot, quan s'explica que llancen el producte i no el compra ningú. Ara, em ve al cap un altra innovació fracassada, la del Xerox Alto https://ca.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xerox_Alto que, crec, fou el primer ordinador en incorporar un ratolí i la metàfora de l'escriptori, en 1973... Buà, 50 anys! Doncs, a veure si aconsegueixo recordar aquesta, també.
